Imani

Day 7: Jan 1

Principle: Imani - Faith

Symbol: The ancient Egyptian double symbol of the ankh (life) and djed pillar (stability, endurance). This symbol represents steadfastness in commitment to the Good, the Right, and the Beautiful in life

Candle: Green

Imani means FAITH; faith is belief that is not based on proof.

This principle requires us to believe in our abilities both personally and professionally. Learning to trust yourself is not an easy task

Today is the 1st of another 365 oppurtunities, let'sstart by:

❌ removing the problems that limit your faith

🛑 valuing yourself according to other people's opinions

😃 exuding confidence

🗣 speaking to yourself in an uplifting manner (words affect your thinking)

📝 your high and lows (failing the first time doesn't end it all)

Faith is a commitment to all that is of value (from family to community to people and culture). We are created in the image of the Creator. We are responsible for our own self-mastery. Without the last principle FAITH we cannot maintain the previous principles and the first principle UMOJA would be obsolete.

To lack faith diminishes the measure of our progress.

To have faith empowers us to control our destiny, shape our future and live our daily lives in a manner that contributes to our growth as individuals and a collective.

We are UMOJA ... united

We are KUJICHAGULIA ... self determined

We are UJIMA ... working together

We are UJAMAA ... good stewards of our money and resources

We are NIA ... a people with a purpose

We are KUUMBA ... creative and innovative

We are IMANI ... faithful to ourselves our community and our purpose
